Billable Hours Don’t Work
The "billable hour" is one of the most frustrating aspects of the legal profession...for the clients and lawyers alike...so we don't use it. At Vivere Law, we use a flat-rate fee structure that gives you a price at the beginning that includes all aspects of your case. Here's how we all benefit from this approach:
1.) You Know What You're Getting Into. And, most importantly, what it's going to cost! It's hard to make the decision to hire a lawyer to help you solve a problem at $100+ per hour when you don't know how long it is going to take them. Legal services become accessible when you are able to budget for, and essentially purchase, a resolution.
2.) Flat-Rate Fees Promote Efficiency. An individual working in a billable-hour climate is essentially rewarded for taking longer to accomplish something. For example, a lawyer being paid $100 per hour to draft an estate plan would make more money if he took 6 hours to complete the documents as opposed to 3 hours. This makes no business sense. You want your matter resolved quickly and efficiently, and we want to do that for you.
3.) We WANT You to Communicate. At Vivere Law, we genuinely care about our clients and the situations they find themselves in. When you have questions or updates regarding your circumstances, we want you to feel free (Literally!) to call/text/email us throughout our time representing you. A flat-rate fee gives you the confidence that our time communicating with you is focused on your needs, and neither of us have to be watching the clock. With Vivere Law, you'll never have to pay a bill because you wanted your attorney to explain what was happening in your case. And that's the way it should be.
